Daniele Squeo has been General Music Director of the Pfalztheater in Kaiserslautern since 2020. In recent seasons, he has made important debuts at leading theaters such as Opernhaus Zürich (2022 with »Anna Bolena«), the Deutsche Oper Berlin (February 2024 again with »Anna Bolena«) and currently at the Semperoper Dresden (autumn 2024 with »Il barbiere di Siviglia«).
After completing his piano diploma at the »Nino Rota« Conservatory in Monopoli (Italy), he studied orchestral conducting at the »Franz Liszt« Hochschule für Musik in Weimar.
In 2014, he was appointed Second Kapellmeister at the Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, where he was promoted to First Kapellmeister in 2016 and had the opportunity to work on a broad repertoire from Mozart to Verdi, from Donizetti to Wagner.
Recent highlights include his Spanish debut with the Bilbao Symphony Orchestra at the New Year's Concerts, »Macbeth« and »Il turco in Italia« at Opernhaus Zürich, »Il cappello di paglia di Firenze« in Graz, »L'elisir d'amore« in Leipzig, »Don Carlo«, »Die Zauberflöte«, »Tannhäuser«, »Roméo et Juliette« and »Salome« in Kaiserslautern, »Rigoletto« at the Bregenzer Festspiele.
