The mezzo-soprano Elisabeth Wrede, born in Cottbus, studied classical singing with Professor Brigitte Wohlfarth at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater »Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy« in Leipzig. Elisabeth has been a member of the Komische Oper Berlin's international opera studio since the 2022/23 season, where she has sung roles such as Third Wood Elf (»Rusalka«), Amy Lawrence (»Tom Sawyer«), Princess Linetta (»The Love for Three Oranges«), Troll Queen/Farmeress (»Nils Holgersson's Wondrous Adventures«), Princess of Granada (»The Bandits«), Chava (»Anatevka«) and 2nd/3rd Lady (»The Magic Flute«).

In addition to appearances at the Gewandhaus Leipzig (Mendelssohn: »Paulus« and »Lobgesang«), she has sung concert repertoire such as the Requiem in D minor (Mozart), the Coronation Mass (Mozart), the Mass in C major (Beethoven and Schubert), the »Oratorio de Noël« (Saint-Saëns) and the Christmas Oratorio (Bach). As part of the Mozartfest Würzburg 2024, she will perform in the staged song recital »Hell ist die Nacht«, followed by the alto part of »Elijah« (Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy) at the Wetzlar Cathedral. After several stand-ins at the Heidelberg Theater with roles such as the Third Wood Elf and Princess Linetta, the young mezzo-soprano is making her stage debut here as Tisbe (»La Cenerentola«). She is also one of the soloists in the 2024 opera gala at the Schlossfestspiele in Ettlingen, where she already appeared in summer 2021 as Orlofsky (»Die Fledermaus«) and Angelina (»La Cenerentola«). In the 2024/25 season, she will make her next stage debut as Hansel (»Hansel and Gretel«) at the Komische Oper Berlin.
