Sam Beklik was born in Iran, lives in Salzburg and is a multidisciplinary artist. He studied photography at the MTF Tehran and the Internationale Sommerakademie für Bildende Kunst Salzburg, as well as stage and costume design, film and exhibition architecture at the Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg. He works across borders in the fields of scenography, costume design, photography, performance and installation. In his solo projects and collaborative works, Sam Beklik explores a broad thematic spectrum, such as boundless creativity, mental illness, human boundaries and changing gender roles.
With his performances and exhibitions, Beklik has already been a guest in various cities in Austria. As a freelance stage and costume designer, he works on projects in Austria and Germany, primarily at the Staatstheater Oldenburg, the Staatstheater Mainz and the Stadttheater Gießen.
