Lithuanian mezzo-soprano Milda Tubelytė completed her bachelor's degree at the Academy for Music and Theatre in Vilnius and continued her training with a master's degree at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater in Hamburg. She has been a permanent member of the ensemble at the Staatstheater Braunschweig since 2012, where she has performed roles such as Ruggiero (Händel, »Alcina«), Dorabella (Mozart, »Cosi fan tutte«), Rosina (Rossini, »Il barbiere di Siviglia«), Charlotte (Massenet, »Werther«), Béatrice (Berlioz, »Béatrice et Bénédict«), L’enfant (Ravel, »L’enfant et les sortilèges«), Hänsel (Humperdinck, »Hänsel und Gretel«), Baba the Turk (Stravinsky, »The Rake’s Progress«), Maddalena (Verdi, »Rigoletto«), Valencienne (Lehár, »Die lustige Witwe«), Wellgunde (Wagner, »Das Rheingold« and »Götterdämmerung«). The highlight of the 2024/25 season will be her debut as Donna Elvira in Mozart's »Don Giovanni«. She has also interpreted several roles in Lithuania, such as Romeo (Bellini, »I Capuleti e i Montecchi«) and Marguerite (Berlioz, »La damnation de Faust«). Her repertoire includes over 55 roles. In 2022, she was nominated for the German Theater Award »Der Faust« for best actress for her portrayal of Jisoko Honda in Toshio Hosokawa's opera »Hanjo«. In 2024, the 19th Münchener Biennale opened with great success with Lucia Ronchetti's opera »Zenobia«, in which Milda Tubelytė sang the title role.
