Sophie Frérard

Sophie Frérard is a Belgian actress who trained at the INSAS art school in Brussels with Isabelle Pousseur, Dominique Grosjean, Ingrid von Wantoch Rekowski, Annette Sachs and others until 2018. After graduating, she played in the cinema »A Good Man« by Marie Castille Mention Schaar and on television in »Scène de ménage« (2019, Paris) and then went to Ghent to learn Dutch and take the lead role in »A Star Fish« by Lisa Mitran (2019, Sint-Lukas). She played a leading role in »Climate Show« by Kompanie Histoires Publiques (2021 to 2025, Palais du Heysel in Brussels), in French and Dutch and then in schools in Wallonia, Belgium. She performed in 2022 at the Lis-moi tout festival at the Theatre Rideau de Bruxelles (2022) and at the Le Vilar theatre in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium. She also creates her own projects such as »Danse ton silence« in 2021, an art project about sexualised violence with a social objective. Sophie Frérard is passionate about languages (French, Dutch, English, Spanish, sign language, ...), as demonstrated by her project »Ynys Convent« 2024 in French and Dutch about Belgium and the use of language there. At Theater und Orchester Heidelberg, Sophie Frérard will be performing in German and French in »Unter euch« by Thomas Depryck in 2024/25.
