Korbinian Schmidt, born in Munich, studied stage and costume design at the Universität Mozarteum in Salzburg and directing at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch in Berlin. In addition to directing his own productions, he works as a freelance costume and set designer for theatre and opera productions. He has designed costumes and stage sets at the Burgtheater Wien, Schauspielhaus Bochum, Schauspielhaus Wien, Theater Basel, Komische Oper Berlin and Schauspielhaus Graz, among others.
