Amber Fasquelle

Born and raised in San Francisco, California, Amber holds both American and Italian citizenship, and celebrates the El Salvadoran roots of her mother's family. She trained at the Oberlin Conservatory and the Cleveland Institute of Music, and pursued her graduate degree at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She was invited to join the opera studio of the Paris Opéra de Bastille at the young age of twenty-three.
In 2024, Amber performed internationally as a concert soloist. With the Amarillo Symphony she sang Beethoven’s 9th Symphony. In the fall, she appeared as a soloist with the Philharmonie Luxembourg in their new work »pOpera«, and traveled to London in the winter as a premiere soloist in the London Festival of American Music, singing the music of the acclaimed female composer Odaline de la Martinez.
In 2024, Amber was also the second prize winner of the Felice Lattuada Competition and traveled to Latvia as a selected semi-finalist of the Belvedere International Competition.
In 2018, Amber joined the Deutsche Oper Berlin for her European debut after winning the 2018 competition of the Opera Foundation in New York City. With the company, Amber performed various leading and supporting roles including highlights as: Fox in »The Cunning Little Vixen«, Flora in »La traviata«, and the Musician in »Manon Lescaut« with Simon Rattle.
In 2019, Amber was invited by Plácido Domingo to join his opera studio in Valencia, Spain – Perfeccionament Plácido Domingo. In 2021, Amber finished her time in Spain on a high note as one of 12 finalists in the international Montserrat Caballé Competition.
Amber has also worked with Theater Freiburg and Cincinnati Opera, and taken part in world-renowned music festivals such as the Aspen Music Festival, Opera Theatre of Saint Louis, and the Britten-Pears Aldeburgh Festival. In the baroque repertoire, Amber has worked closely with the Cleveland Baroque Orchestra Apollo's Fire.
From 2021 to 2023, Amber coached closely with the acclaimed baritone Thomas Quasthoff in the lied and concert repertoire.
From 2025 on she is a member of the ensemble of Heidelberg Theatre.
