Anna Alàs i Jové

The Catalan mezzo-soprano completed her vocal studies at the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin. She is, among other things, a prizewinner of the International Competition for Lied Art Stuttgart as well as the International Competition for Baroque Opera Pietro Antonio Cesti.
Her opera repertoire ranges from Carmen, Ottavia, Dido and Diana, Cenerentola and Rosina to Bellini’s Romeo, Gounod’s Stephano and Mozart’s Donna Elvira as well as Cherubino, up to Friedensbote in »Rienzi« or as Simplicius, showcasing the entire range and strong stage presence of Anna Alàs i Jové.
She has performed at venues such as the Berliner Staatsoper, Oper Köln, Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona, Teatro Real Madrid, Oper Bonn, Staatstheatern Nürnberg und Braunschweig, Landestheater Linz, the Berlin Philharmonie, the Potsdam Music Festival and the Innsbruck Festival of Early Music, as well as at almost all Spanish opera and concert houses and festivals.
Her extensive concert repertoire has taken her to almost all major European concert halls. She has appeared, among others, with Beethoven’s 9th Symphony with the Beethoven Orchester Bonn, in a staged production of »Elijah« at the Winter Opera in Potsdam, with »Elijah« at the Berlin Philharmonie, as Storge in the new production of »Jephtha« at the Staatstheater Wiesbaden (directed by Achim Freyer, conducted by Konrad Junghänel), and also in a staged production of the »St Matthew Passion« by J. S. Bach in the alto part; in 2024, she performed as Bradamante in »Alcina« at the Oper Bonn.
She has worked with conductors such as Marc Minkowski, Dirk Kaftan, David Afkham, Thomas Hengelbrock, Markus Poschner, Dorothee Oberlinger, Christoph Prick, Josep Pons, Titus Engel, Konrad Junghänel, among others. A great passion of Anna Alàs i Jové is her extensive work in art song, especially with rediscoveries and first recordings; several CDs have been released on labels such as Sony Classical, Naxos, Seed, among others.
