Roman Konieczny

Roman Konieczny was born in Karl-Marx-Stadt. After studying acting, he held engagements at the Staatstheater Braunschweig, the Saarländisches Staatstheater Saarbrücken, the Stadttheater Aachen, the Theater Ulm, the Theater Dortmund and the Théâtre National du Luxembourg, among others. He has a long-standing working relationship with Katharina Schmidt, with whom he develops and co-directs plays. The directing duo's most recent work has taken them to the Staatstheater Darmstadt, the Staatstheater Braunschweig, the Anhaltisches Theater Dessau and the Theater Osnabrück, among others. In 2025/26, Roman Konieczny will direct Kleist's »Der zerbrochne Krug« at Theater und Orchester Heidelberg in collaboration with Katharina Schmidt.
