Franziska Hölscher

Violinist Franziska Hölscher is one of the most versatile musicians of the younger generation. From the very beginning of her career, playing together with colleagues has been an integral part of her repertoire. Since her debut with Martha Argerich, her partners have included Kit Armstrong, Martin Helmchen, Nils Mönkemeyer, Maximilian Hornung, Daniel Müller-Schott and Christoph Prégardien. She has an artistic friendship with the author Roger Willemsen. With him, she developed the stage program »Landschaften«, which she recorded together with the actress Maria Schrader and the pianist Marianna Shirinyan and which has been on the bestseller lists ever since. In her dramaturgically thought-out concert programs, Hölscher combines works from the baroque and classical-romantic repertoire with contemporary music, as on her award-winning CD »SEQUENZA«. In the 2024/25 season, Franziska Hölscher performed Ondřej Adámek's violin concerto at the Bregenzer Festspiele and Karl Amadeus Hartmann's »Concerto funebre« with the Württembergisches Kammerorchester at the Konzerthaus Berlin. She is on tour with Vivaldi's Four Seasons in a play-lead project with recorder player Dorothee Oberlinger at the Konzerthaus Ravensburg and the Mosel Musikfestival, among others. Born in Heidelberg and trained by Ulf Hoelscher, Thomas Brandis, Nora Chastain and Reinhard Goebel, Franziska Hölscher won prizes at major international competitions at a young age, including first prize at the Prague International Radio Competition. As an ambassador for the »Rhapsody in School« project initiated by Lars Vogt, she is committed to teaching classical music in schools.
