Henryk Böhm

Henryk Böhm studied singing at Hochschule für Musik Carl Maria von Weber Dresden. He won firsst prize at the International Robert-Schumann-Wettbewerb in Zwickau and was winner of the second prize at the Bundeswettbewerb Gesang Berlin. As a member of the ensemble at Staatstheater Braunschweig and at the opera houses in Leipzig, Cologne, Hanover, Darmstadt, Koblenz and Essen, the baritone has sung and continues to sing major roles in his field, including Papageno, Conte Almaviva, Don Giovanni, Marcello, Giorgio Germont, Onegin, Pizarro and Eisenstein. In addition, he devotes himself to numerous concert performances and sings in the major concert halls on national as well as international stages as well as at numerous festivals, including Salzburger Festspielen, Dresdner Musikfestspielen, Rheingau Musik Festival, Settimane Bach Mailand, Wratislavia Cantans and Bachfest Leipzig. The baritone is also in demand as Liedsänger and founded the renowned Lieder recital series »Das Lied in Dresden«. There are several radio and CD recordings, including Capriccio, Genuin and Coviello Classics. The most recent release is a CD with the cantatas for bass solo by Johann Sebastian Bach. Henryk Böhm has been professor of voice at Hochschule für Musik, Theater und Medien Hannover since 2013.
