Olivia Rosendorfer works as a stage and costume designer and is part of the artistic direction of the collective fachbetrieb rita grechen.
Olivia Rosendorfer develops spatial and site-specific stage designs and focuses on the interplay of architecture and sound to create atmospheres that captivate the audience. Rosendorfer's costume designs intertwine contemporary haute couture and pop culture with historical fashion trends. In addition, her portrayal of bodies on stage plays with gender and breaks with normative body images.
As a stage and costume designer, Olivia Rosendorfer has a long-standing collaboration with directors Julia Prechsl and Franziska Angerer. With Hannah Frauenrath, she is working on her first joint project at the Theater und Orchester Heidelberg with »If the Widow Wishes to Be Addressed She Puts the Watering Can on the Grave with the Spout Facing Forward«. Olivia Rosendorfer's projects to date have taken her to the Schauspiel Stuttgart, the Saarländisches Staatstheater, the Staatstheater Darmstadt and the Staatstheater Braunschweig, among others.
In 2018, Olivia Rosendorfer also founded the interdisciplinary music theatre collective fachbetrieb rita grechen. As artistic director, Olivia Rosendorfer is involved in the concept and format development of the projects, as well as in the performative, stage and costume design implementation. Fachbetrieb rita grechen created, among other things, the play »Self Care Strandbefehl« at HELLERAU – European Centre for the Arts in Dresden, which was invited to the 12th edition of »Politik im freien Theater« (Politics in Independent Theatre).
