Linda Bockmeyer - born in Germersheim, the daughter of a master gas and water fitter and an office administrator - initially studied cultural studies, German studies and computer science in Heidelberg before deciding to go into theatre.
At theAkademie für Darstellende Kunst in Baden-Württemberg, she adapted the medieval play »Iwein.Löwe.Ritter Feat. Hartmann von Aue«, she adapted the medieval verse novel »Iwein« as a coming-of-age story about toxic masculinity and the search for a way out of it.
Alongside her studies, she assisted in theatre productions with Hansgünther Heyme and Jan Philipp Gloger, among others, and staged the surreal tragicomedy »Das Ende einer Welt (Alles muss sich ändern - Jetzt!)« at the Landestheater Schwaben on the subject of climate change, powerlessness and individual responsibility in a capitalist global economy.
In addition to productions in a classical theatre context, she has also realised projects in urban spaces, including as part of the Neuland-Festival of the City of Ludwigsburg and at the invitation of the European Capital of Culture 2024 in Bad Ischl.
Most recently, she staged Annalena and Konstantin Küspert's »Der Reichsbürger« at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern as an immersive test run for the defence of democracy. In 2024, she created a socially satirical exaggeration of Molière's »Miser« for the Theatersommer Ludwigsburg.
