Frank Alexander Engel

Frank Alexander Engel was born in Pasewalk in 1965 and grew up in Rostock. From 1990 to 1994, he studied at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst »Ernst Busch« in Berlin, Department of Puppetry. Engagements as a puppeteer have taken him to the Südthüringisches Staatstheater Meiningen, the Thalia Theater Halle, later to the Theater Junge Generation Dresden and as in-house director at the Puppentheater der Stadt Magdeburg. He has been working as a freelance director and designer since 2011 and teaches at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst »Ernst Busch«.  His work combines puppet, mask and acting techniques in a striking way.
