Anna Schönberg

Anna Schönberg grew up in Hildesheim. After a guest engagement at the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin, she studied acting in Vienna at the Max Reinhardt Seminar. In Austria, she was engaged at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt and in Bregenz and worked with the artist Carmen Brucic at the Burgtheater and the Haus für Musik und Theater (MuTh) in Vienna.
She was a member of the ensemble at the Theater Paderborn for three years and has also worked in the independent scene in Vienna, Leipzig, and Berlin, for example at the Theaterdiscounter, Ballhaus Ost, Kosmos Theater Wien, and the Sophiensaele. There, she won the audience award at the 100° Festival Berlin in 2015 with her own play »Wie man leben soll oder was macht Peter?« in collaboration with Julia Tausend, with whom she has a long-standing working relationship.
Anna Schönberg performed summer theater with great enthusiasm at the Burgfestspiele Bad Vilbel, the Festival Pergolesi Spontini in Jesi, Italy, in Ludwigsburg, and most recently in 2022 at the Festspiele Wangen.
From 2017 to 2024, she was a member of the ensemble at the Neue Bühne Senftenberg, where she worked with Dominic Friedel and Elina Finkel on several occasions.
In 2021, Anna Schönberg made a guest appearance at the Lausitz Festival in Christiane Pohle's production of »Rein gold – ein Bühnenessay« by Elfriede Jelinek.
She played Marie in »Woyzeck«, Adela in »Bernarda Albas Haus« by Lorca, Maša in »Die Möwe by Čechov«, Dorine in »der Tartüff by Moliere«, Puck in »Sommernachtstraum«, the Grand Duchess in Camus' »Die Gerechten«, Ariel in »Sturm«, Lady Milford in »Kabale und Liebe«, Jessica Höfels in »Frau Müller muss weg« and Nadja in »Utopia« by M. Durnenkov and many more.
Anna Schönberg regularly takes on roles in cinema and television films. She appeared in front of the camera for the first German Netflix series dark and most recently for a leading role in an episode of »Soko Leipzig«. The series »watch me« was shown at the Max Ophüls Film Festival in Saarbrücken in 2024. Her short film »Beate sitzt im Badezimmer und schweigt« was invited to the Warsaw Film Festival and, in addition to several honorable mentions as lead actress at festivals, received an award at the Best Shorts Competition (US) and a nomination for best actress at the International Short Film Festival in New Jersey.
Anna Schönberg also reads the Amnesty Journal for the KOM-IN network for people with blindness or visual impairments.
