Juan Pablo Troncoso

Juan Pablo Troncoso is a chilean actor, playwright, and director. In 2018, he was selected to participate in the Royal Court Theatre’s International Playwrights Programme. He is a member of Colectivo Zoológico theater company and also works independently and in collaboration with various ensembles and directors.
Juan Pablo Troncoso has premiered over a dozen plays of his own authorship, including »No tenemos que sacrificarnos por los que vendrán«, »NIMBY«, »Muerte y explosión de un anarquista chileno«, »Jugar a la guerra«, »Caracol«, »En toda alma hay una marca oscura« and »Volver al volcán«. He worked as dramaturg for Colectivo Zoológico’s »Mirar – No mirar« and »María Isabel«, directed by Ana Luz Ormazábal. In 2024, he directed one of the productions for the Muestra Nacional de Dramaturgia in Chile. His texts have been presented in Mexico, Spain, Germany, Brazil, Uruguay, Norway, Portugal, Colombia, and Argentina. He teaches in various theater schools in Santiago and Valparaíso, his hometown.
