Nora Sourouzian

The mezzo-soprano Nora Sourouzian sings at opera houses such as Paris, Zurich, Berlin, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Naples, Bologna, Leipzig, Essen, Cologne, Graz, St. Gallen, Palm Beach, Seattle, the Met in New York, Montreal, Bellas Artes in Mexico and Tokyo as well as at festivals such as Wexford.

Most recently, she appeared as Azucena in »Il trovatore« at the Braunschweig State Theatre, as Amneris in Copenhagen and in the Verdi Requiem in Wiesbaden. She will soon be singing Giulietta in »Les Contes d’Hoffmann« at the Graz Opera.

Her broad repertoire also includes roles such as Eboli, Santuzza, Carmen, Ježibaba in Dvořák's »Rusalka«, Charlotte in »Werther«, Marguerite in »La damnation de Faust«, the Composer in »Ariadne auf Naxos« and contemporary works.

Conductors such as Christoph Eschenbach, Sir John Eliot Gardiner, Marc Minkowski and Franz Welser-Möst have invited her to perform Mahler's 3rd Symphony, Wagner's Wesendonck Lieder, Frank Martin's »Der Cornet«, Berlioz »Les nuits d’été« and the Verdi Requiem, among others.
