Jelena Kunz

Jelena Kunz was born in Mannheim in 1993 and grew up in Freinsheim an der Weinstraße in a family of artists. Even before studying acting at the Staatlichen Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart, she gained various stage experiences, mainly in dance and concert performances. In her final year at the Staatlichen Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart, she performed in Calixto Bieto's production of »Bernarda Albas Haus« at the Staatstheater Stuttgart and then became a permanent ensemble member at the Pfalztheater Kaiserslautern. From 2019 to 2023, she played protagonists there, including in »Minna von Barnhelm« or »Katharina Blum« and the world premiere of »Die toten Freunde (Dinosauriermonologe)« by Ariane Koch, which was invited to the Berliner Theatertage at the Deutsches Theater. Jelena Kunz has been working as a freelance theatre, film, television and dubbing actress in her new home of Berlin since 2023. Most recently, she appeared as Elisabeth in »Stolz und Vorurteil (oder so)« at the Landestheater Detmold, as Toinette in »Der eingebildete Kranke« and as Ronja in »Ronja Räubertochter« at the Freilichtspiele Schwäbisch Hall and at the Hans Otto Theater Potsdam in »Troja« and »Bär im Universum«.
