Maurice Böhlke

Maurice Böhlke was born in Offenbach am Main in 1997 and grew up there. After graduating from high school with a focus on media design, he studied musicology and philosophy at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main. During his studies, he gained his first practical experience through internships in dramaturgy at the Mainz State Theatre and the Frankfurt Opera, as well as in directing at the Darmstadt State Theatre. From 2022 to 2025, he worked as an assistant director at the Anhaltisches Theater Dessau, collaborating with Christiane Iven, Johannes Weigand, Jakob Peters-Messer, Michael Schachermaier and Malte Kreutzfeldt, among others. There he staged Mozart's »The Magic Flute« as part of the »Opera at 11« format and most in 2024/25 »Höhere Gewalt – Ein Musiktheaterabend mit Stücken von Luigi Nono und Mauricio Kagel« (Force Majeure – An Evening of Music Theatre with Pieces by Luigi Nono and Mauricio Kagel) at the Altes Theater Dessau. In the summer of 2025, he assisted Georg Quander with the chamber opera adaptation of Strauss' »Die Fledermaus« at the Rheinsberg Academy, which was specially arranged for salon orchestra, and also took on the roles of evening stage manager and stage manager there. 
Since the 2025/26 season, Maurice Böhlke has been engaged as assistant director and evening stage manager at Theater und Orchester Heidelberg.
