Lisa Wilhelm

Lisa Wilhelm is a young drummer and composer from Stuttgart who was awarded the Soloist Prize of the Young German Jazz Prize in 2023 and has been a scholarship holder of the Kunststiftung BW since 2025. Her musical journey took her from Stuttgart across Germany via Hamburg to Dinkelsbühl, where she mainly followed her roots in pop music. Her love of jazz brought her back to Stuttgart, where she began studying jazz percussion at the HMDK in 2018, founded the Lisa Wilhelm Quartet in 2020 and graduated with honours in 2023. In 2021, her studies took her to the Royal College of Music in Stockholm before she moved to Lisbon to complete a semester at the Escola Superior de Música.  Back in Germany, the »recording project« scholarship from 2ndFLOOR e.V. and LOFT Cologne enabled her to record some of her own compositions, which were released as an album in spring 2023. In May 2025, the second album »So Close« was released, as was the debut album »Pure Tape Records« by her trio BÖE.

Lisa Wilhelm plays and experiments in a wide variety of constellations with different musicians from Europe, such as the trio BÖE, the Restle Wögler Big Band, the Tim Scherer Trio, the band Nitsch and the Rikas. In addition to concerts in German jazz clubs and international clubs in Stockholm, Lisbon, Paris and London, she has already played as part of the Elbphilharmonie Jazz Academy 2021 in Hamburg, among others. She has been involved in productions at the Thalia Theater Hamburg, the Junges Schauspielhaus Hamburg and the Schauspielhaus Stuttgart, partly as musical director and partly as a percussionist. At Theater und Orchester Heidelberg, Lisa Wilhelm will play percussion in »Der zerbrochne Krug« in 2025/26.
