Fleur Ummels will graduate in costume design and scenography from Toneelacademie Maastricht in 2022. In the same year, she was an intern at Het Nationale Theater in Den Haag and assistant to costume designer Jorine van Beek. To her work, it is important that stage and costumes do not try to explain, but support the respective play. A certain uniformity and an exploration of colour palettes based on emotion can regularly be found in her costume designs. Her scenic spaces often use minimalist or abstract objects. In the aesthetic exploration of her designs, she is drawn to the search for pain points beneath the aesthetics. Fleur Ummels is designing the costumes for the world premiere of »Abschuss« by Özlem Özgül Dündar at Theater und Orchester Heidelberg during the festival Remmidemmi.
