Karin Eckstein studied for six years with Juan José Mosalini at the Conservatoire in Gennevilliers/Paris and graduated with distinction. Several stays in Buenos Aires and other cities in Argentina, and the associated close contact with legendary bandoneon players, deepened her understanding of Argentine music and its roots.
Her wide-ranging repertoire includes arrangements for solo bandoneon, tangos of many styles and the leading works for bandoneon and classical orchestra. As solo bandoneonist in Piazzolla's operita »Maria de Buenos Aires«, she has performed at several major theatres in Germany.
She has also appeared in various television productions.
The musical possibilities of the bandoneon in other styles form another focus of her work.
