Tim Plegge

Tim Plegge was born in Berlin and trained as a dancer at the Hamburg Ballett’s ballet school. He went on to study choreography at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst »Ernst Busch« in Berlin. From 2006 onwards, he created works for the Kiel Ballet, the Badisches Staatsballett Karlsruhe and the Staatsballett Berlin. As ballet director of the Hessisches Staatsballett, he has been creating both shorter pieces and narrative ballets since 2014. Plegge is a member of the German Academy of Performing Arts and has served on several juries. His works have been invited to international festivals. He will become the new Director of Dance at Tanz Heidelberg from the 2026/27 season.
