Anna Sünkel

Anna Sünkel studied fashion design in Stuttgart. After holding several assistant roles at the Oper Halle, she worked as a costume assistant at Schauspiel Frankfurt from 2017 to 2020. It was there that she created her first original costume designs for the productions »Vom Gauner persönlich«, »Patentöchter« and »An Oak Tree«.

She has been working as a freelance costume designer since 2020. She has an ongoing collaboration with Nuran David Calis, which has resulted in numerous joint productions.

She has also worked with Pavol Liska and Kelly Copper from the Nature Theater of Oklahoma, as well as with Tim Crouch and Juliane Kann.

Anna Sünkels’ work has been staged at venues including Schauspiel Frankfurt, Mousonturm Frankfurt, Schauspiel Bonn, Oper Wuppertal, das Nationaltheater Mannheim, das Landestheater Salzburg and in Hall E of the MuseumsQuartier Vienna as part of the Johann-Strauss-Jahr 2025. »Der Menschenfeind« is her first production at Theater & Orchester Heidelberg.
