Ron Zimmering
Ron Zimmering is an actor, director and artistic director of various event formats. He studied acting at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater »Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy« Leipzig and later directing at the der Hochschule für Musik und Theater Hamburg. He has directed productions at venues including the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg, the Hamburger Staatsoper, the Staatstheater Nürnberg, the Deutsche Oper am Rhein and the Humboldt Forum Berlin.
In his work as a director, he often combines classical material with elements of reality. He frequently adopts an interdisciplinary approach, blending drama, music, dance and academia, whilst also collaborating with non-professional community ensembles and »everyday experts«. In addition, he serves as artistic director of major events, festivals and event series.
At Theater & Orchester Heidelberg, he staged the winning play from the 2021 Heidelberger Stückemarkt, »Das weiße Dorf« by Teresa Dopler, and was invited to the 2024 Heidelberger Stückemarkt with his community theatre production »Juden Juden Juden«. In 2026/27, he will direct the world premiere of »Die Anhörung« by Anne Münch.
