Laura Linnenbaum
Laura Linnenbaum, born in 1986, studied directing at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main. She was a directing fellow and assistant director at the Schauspiel Frankfurt, where she created her first works as a director. Since 2013, Linnenbaum has been working as a freelance director, including for the Berliner Ensemble, Schauspiel Frankfurt, the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, the Nationaltheater Mannheim, the Theater Bonn, and the state theatres in Dresden, Hanover and Nuremberg. In 2016, she served as curator and artistic director for the theatre festival »Unentdeckte Nachbarn« in Chemnitz, which was awarded the Chemnitz Peace Prize in 2017. Also in 2017, she was nominated as Director of the Year by the journal »Theater heute« for the world premiere of »Homohalal« at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden; the production was also invited to the Heidelberger Stückemarkt and the Mülheimer Theatertage. In the 2026/27 season, Laura Linnenbaum will direct »Over the Rainbow« at Theater & Orchester Heidelberg, a musical evening exploring the life of Judy Garland.
