Anton Schreiber

Anton Schreiber, born in Hamburg in 1991, studied theatre and literary studies at the Freie Universität Berlin and Romance languages at Humboldt-Universität Berlin, and worked as a dubbing scriptwriter for cinema productions and later as an assistant director at the Hans Otto Theater Potsdam, the Theater Münster and the Düsseldorf Schauspielhaus. There, he collaborated with, amongst others, Bernadette Sonnenbichler, Andreas Kriegenburg, Roger Vontobel and Robert Wilson.

At the Theater Münster, he directed Bertolt Brecht’s »Flüchtlingsgespräche« in 2021; at the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus, he directed »Reigen« based on Arthur Schnitzler, »Ellen Babić«, »Novecento«, »Zwei Herren von Real Madrid« and his own play »Digital Daydreams«. He has also worked as a director and playwright for the Theaterschiff Heilbronn and in the independent theatre scene.

During the 2026/27 season, he will stage Eugène Labiche’s »Das Sparschwein« as his first production for the Theater & Orchester Heidelberg.
