Julia Scholz

Julia Scholz studied set and costume design at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London.

From 1997 to 2002, she worked as a set design assistant at the Bühnen der Stadt Köln, the Staatstheater Stuttgart and the Thalia Theater Hamburg, where she assisted directors such as Michael Thalheimer, Stephan Kimmig and Leander Haussmann.

In Hamburg, she met the director Jorinde Dröse, with whom she has created numerous productions as a set and costume designer since 2002 at theatres including the Schauspiel Bochum, Schauspiel Frankfurt, Schauspiel Leipzig and the Volkstheater München.

She has also designed numerous stage and costume sets in collaboration with directors including Sabine Harbeke, Klaus Hemmerle, Alexander Schilling and Hüseyin Michael Circipi at venues such as the Heilbronn Theatre, the Landestheater Innsbruck and the Ingolstadt Theatre.

Since 2018, she has been Head of Set Design at the JES in Stuttgart.
