Lukas Fries

Lukas Fries works as a set designer at the interdisciplinary intersection of visual and performing arts. He designs independent spatial works and installations, as well as set and costume designs for productions in the fields of drama, musical theatre and performance art.

His works have been invited to national and international festivals, such as the Fast Forward Festival at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden, the Festival Radikal Jung at the Volkstheater München and the Festival of International Alternative Theatre in Montenegro. As part of the 2020 critics’ poll conducted by the magazine Theater heute, he was nominated as Set Designer of the Year. His set and costume design for the production »Nice« was featured at the 2025 Heidelberg Stückemarkt and the 2026 Mülheim Theatre Festival.
