Trixy Royeck

Trixy Royeck is a set designer, illustrator and designer.

She has a particular passion for the theatre. Since 2006, she has been creating stage designs and spatial installations, costume designs and video works for drama, musical theatre and independent productions. Her first collaboration with Martina van Boxen began around 20 years ago at the Schauspielhaus Bochum. Since then, the two have regularly worked together on joint projects, such as the current production of »Schöne neue Welt« at the Theater Heidelberg. She has also worked with various directors at venues including the Prinz Regent Theater and Rottstr 5 Theater in Bochum, the Staatstheater Darmstadt, the Staatstheater Nürnberg, the Stadttheater Bremerhaven, the ETA Hoffmann Theater in Bamberg, the Theater Krefeld Mönchengladbach, the Mainfrankentheater in Würzburg and the Staatstheater Wiesbaden.

With the Bonn-based theatre collective the beautiful minds, Trixy Royeck develops participatory theatre projects and leads creative workshops. In 2026, the collective was awarded the Kurt-Hackenberg Prize for political theatre.

As a scholarship holder, she took part in the Bayreuther Festspielen and the International Forum of the Berliner Theatertreffen, and reached the final of the international opera competition Ring Award 11.

Another cause close to Trixy Royeck’s heart is the exchange and sharing of books. As part of a university project in 2002, she developed the »Offener Bücherschrank« and, together with the Bürgerstiftung Bonn, launched a project that is now present in many cities across Germany.

With her reading furniture »Das BücherEi«, she brings the idea of sharing and the joy of reading to primary schools in Bonn. She also illustrates children’s picture books, which are published by Edition Michael Fischer.
