Marcus Horn
Marcus Horn will join the ensemble at Theater & Orchester Heidelberg from the 2026/27 season.
He was born in Lutherstadt Wittenberg and initially studied painting and graphic design at the Hochschule für bildende Künste Dresden from 2009 to 2014. During this time, he gained his first stage experience in minor roles in productions at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden, the Theater der Technischen Universität Dresden and the Projekttheater Dresden. From 2013 to 2017, he completed his acting training at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock.
From 2017 to 2025, he was a member of the ensemble at the DNT Weimar. There, he worked with directors including Luise Voigt, Jan Gehler, Adewale Teodros Adebisi, Jan Neumann, Swaantje Lena Kleff and Hasko Weber, as well as the theatre and game collective machina eX, and appeared in roles such as the Master (»The Master and Margarita«), Puck (»A Midsummer Night’s Dream«), Faust (»Urfaust«), Rico (»Hannibal«), Francis (»Irreparable«), Iago (»Othello«), Hovstadt (»An Enemy of the People«), Werther (»The Sorrows of Young Werther«), Claudius (»Hamlet, Prince of Denmark«), Tusenbach (»The Three Sisters«), as well as in »Art«, »Moby Dick« and the concert-theatre evenings »A Clockwork Orange«, »Between Love and Anger« and »John Lennon – Across the Universe«.
In 2025/26, Marcus Horn worked as a freelancer and appeared as a guest at the DNT Weimar and the Schiller Theater in Rudolstadt, where he took to the stage as Thomas Buddenbrook in »The Buddenbrooks« and as Sigismund in »Life Is a Dream«. In 2026, he staged his solo show »Vermutlich ohne Konsequenz« there.
