Meilyn Kennedy

Meilyn Kennedy, from the United States, is a dancer with the newly formed Compagnie Tanz Heidelberg. She began her professional ballet training privately with Stacy Smith before continuing her studies at the Joffrey Ballet Academy of Dance in Chicago. In 2017, she broadened her range of movement by taking part in the Arts Umbrella Dance Graduate Programme in Vancouver, led by Artemis Gordon.

After graduating, Meilyn Kennedy was a member of Hessisches Staatsballett Wiesbaden from 2019 to 2025. There, she danced in works and creations by Tim Plegge, Sharon Eyal, Damien Jalet, Leila Ka, Ohad Naharin and Xie Xin, amongst others, and also had the opportunity to present three of her own choreographies.

In addition, she worked as a freelance artist, co-developed a participatory dance event for the International Maifestspiele Wiesbaden, and appeared as a guest dancer in Damien Jalet’s evening programme »ONBASHIRA DIPTYCH«.
