Patrick Short

Patrick Short has been engaged as a dancer with the Tanz Heidelberg company for the 2026/27 season. He trained at the Queensland Ballet Academy in Brisbane, Australia, from 2018 to 2021, and subsequently at the Palucca Hochschule für Tanz in Dresden from 2022 to 2025.

It was here that he gained his first professional experience as part of his training. He appeared in »Soon we will make lots of love« by Dafi Altabeb, »JOIN« by Ioannis Mandafounis, performed with the Dresden Frankfurt Dance Company in Hellerau, »JIT« by Kinsun Chan, performed at the Staatsschauspiel Dresden, and »Sleeping Beauty«, choreographed by Aaron Watkin, at the Semperoper Ballet.

During the 2025/26 season, he completed a one-year dance internship at Skånes Dansteater in Malmö, Sweden, where he gained valuable stage experience as part of an international ensemble. These include »Like the Shadow: I am And I am not« by choreographer Ina Christel Johannessen, »Invisible Rulers« by BobbiLo Produktion, and »Out of the Blue« by Anouk van Dijk. These diverse projects enabled him to work with different choreographic styles whilst still in training and to develop his artistic profile.
