Susanne Berckhemer

Susanne Berckhemer has been a permanent member of the ensemble at the Junges Theater since the 2024/25 season and is particularly committed to theatre for young people.

Following her acting training at the Bayerischen Theaterakademie August Everding, Susanne Berckhemer was previously engaged at the Heidelberg Theatre from 2000 to 2005. During that time, she appeared as Juliet, Ophelia, Stella and in many other major roles – including in productions directed by Ido Ricklin, Davud Bouchehri, Mona Kraushaar and Robin Telfer.

Since 2007, she has been realising her own projects with Spreeagenten Berlin. For »Zalina – Ein Dorf erzählt«, she was awarded the Excellence Prize for the most innovative project at the European Capital of Culture Sibiu 2007.

From 2012 to 2019, Susanne Berckhemer was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Regensburg Theatre, where she appeared as Medea, amongst other roles, and worked with Konstanze Kreusch, Robert Teufel, Melanie Huber, Robin Telfer, Charlotte Koppenhöfer and many others. In 2022, she wrote and directed the Bürgertheater’s production at the Regensburg Theatre: »Wie man in den Himmel kommt«.

Alongside her theatre work, Susanne Berckhemer has appeared in television series and programmes such as »Verliebt in Berlin«, »Wege zum Glück«, »Rosamunde Pilcher«, »Tatort«, »Tiere bis unters Dach« and many more. For several years, she has organised the Guest Management department at the International Filmfestival Mannheim-Heidelberg; she is currently appearing in the production »Mutter Vater Land« at the Theaterhaus G7 in Mannheim and leads the project »Die Klimameile«.
