Tatsuki Takada

Tatsuki Takada was born in Nagano, Japan, in 1991 and began studying classical ballet at the age of six. He trained at the Hakucho Ballet Academy in his home town. In 2009, he won the prestigious Prix de Lausanne and was invited to join the Royal Ballet in London as an apprentice the following year. In 2010, he continued his training at the Cannes Jeune Ballet Rosella Hightower, before joining the Ballet d’Europe in Marseille from 2011 to 2012. He then danced with Ballett Rossa at Oper Halle in Germany from 2012 to 2014.

In the 2014/15 season, Tatsuki Takada joined the newly founded Hessisches Staatsballett Wiesbaden/Darmstadt under the artistic direction of Tim Plegge, and later Bruno Heynderickx, where he remained until 2025 and helped shape the company’s development from the very beginning. During this time, he collaborated with numerous internationally renowned choreographers, including Jean-Christophe Maillot, Richard Siegal, Cayetano Soto, Alexander Ekman, Edward Clug, Marco Goecke, Wayne McGregor, Jeroen Verbruggen, Damien Jalet, Hofesh Shechter, Sharon Eyal, Ohad Naharin, Martin Harriague, Eyal Dadon, Nadav Zelner, Liliana Barros, Dunja Jocic, and Imre and Marne van Opstal. During his early years at the Hessian State Ballet, he took part in Tim Plegge’s new productions. Among other roles, he embodied »The Cold« in Plegge’s »Eine Winterreise« and the »Echo« of the title character in the ballet »Kaspar Hauser«.

In 2024, he was named Dancer of the Year by the specialist magazine tanz in recognition of his artistic achievement, particularly for his performance in »Bolero« by Eyal Dadon.
Tatsuki Takada has a wide-ranging repertoire in contemporary dance and is noted for his versatility and his many years of international stage experience.
