Opernchor des Theaters und Orchesters Heidelberg

The opera choir of the Theater und Orchester Heidelberg puts on five to six new productions as well as two to three repertoire productions every season. It also stages concerts and forms part of bigger chorus and orchestra concerts, offering a broad ranged repertoire reaching from baroque operas during the festival Winter in Schwetzingen to world premieres as well as modern and contemporary works at Theater Heidelberg.
Members of the opera choir regularly take over smaller and bigger solo roles in opera productions.

23 singers belong to the opera choir of the Theater und Orchester Heidelberg. An extra chorus of semi-professional singers supports them in bigger productions.

There is also a children’s and youth choir as well as a pre-choir to promote new singing talents.
The children’s and youth choir is part of the theatre’s opera productions on a regular basis. Solo parts (for children) are taken over by its members, for instance the three boys in Mozart’s »The Magic Flute«.

Florian Daniel has been directing the chorus since April 2025.
