Institut für Kontrolle und Exzess (Ida Feldmann, Naomi Kean, Goldie Röll, Finn Tubbe, Leon Wieferich)

The Institute for Control and Excess was founded during the 2021/22 season with the kind support of the Heidelberg Theatre and Orchestra. With its first production, »saufen fechten heidelberg«, it published the results of intensive research into student fraternities and sororities.

Finn Tubbe, Naomi Kean, Goldie Röll, Leon Wieferich and Ida Feldmann are the founders, directors and principal investigators of the institute’s research area »Kontrolle und Exzess im Kontext performativer Kunst«. Fun and trust are fundamental pillars of their working practice. Their research focuses on control and loss, excess and rehabilitation, structure and intoxication, as well as collective scientific methods. Their first work, »saufen fechten heidelberg«, was invited to festivals and guest performances and continues to be widely received to this day.
