After engagements at the Staatstheater Mainz, Theater Osnabrück and Theater Dortmund, Almerija Delic became a member of the ensemble at Staatstheater Nürnberg starting with the 2018/19 season. Guest engagements have taken the mezzo-soprano to Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Staatstheater Kassel, Staatstheater Braunschweig, Staatstheater Meiningen, Theater und Orchester Heidelberg, Theater Kiel, Theater Erfurt, MIR Gelsenkirchen, Theater Magdeburg, the Schwetzingen Festival with the piece »Re:igen« by B. Lang, the Eutin Festival, and as Ottavia (»L’Incoronazione di Poppea«) to the Ars & Musica Antiqua Festival.
She has also performed at the NOW Festival of the Philharmonie Essen, at the Zeche Zollverein, the Mercatorhalle Duisburg, the Chamber Opera Schloss Rheinsberg, and the Ludwigsburg Festival.
Her signature roles include Carmen (»Carmen«), Judith (»Herzog Blaubarts Burg«), Preziosilla (»La forza del destino«), Adalgisa (»Norma«), Amneris (»Aida«), Eboli (»Don Carlo«), Azucena (»Il trovatore«), Waltraute (»Götterdämmerung«) and Kundry (»Parsifal«).
She has worked with conductors such as Joana Mallwitz, Valentin Uryupin, Roland Böer, Patrik Ringborg, Michael Hofstetter, Attilio Cremonesi, Elias Grandy, Srba Dinic, Gabriel Feltz, Andreas Hotz, Daniel Inbal, Wolfgang Katschner, Catherine Rückwardt and Christian Rieger.
Important stage direction impulses came from Adriana Altaras, Jochen Biganzoli, Peter Konwitschny, Immo Karaman, Peer Boysen, David Hermann, Georges Delnon, Matthias Fontheim, John Fulljames, Tatjana Gürbaca, Jens-Daniel Herzog, Stefan Huber, Bruno Klimek, Yona Kim, Ilaria Lanzino, Nina Russi, Tilmann Knabe, Florian Lutz, Bernd Mottl, Otto Pichler and Floris Visser.
One of her artistic focuses is on contemporary music, to which she is also committed in numerous song recital programs.
She has worked closely with Bernhard Lang, Salvatore Sciarrino, Sidney Corbett, Karlheinz Essl, Gordon Kampe, Peter Kiefer, H. K. Gruber, Dirk Reith, Gerald Resch, Wolfgang Rihm and Karlheinz Stockhausen.
Almerija Delic studied voice at the Folkwang University of the Arts in Essen, the Mainz School of Music and at KUG Graz. She is a prizewinner of national and international singing competitions and has been awarded numerous scholarships, including Forum Tiberius, Villa Musica, the Richard Wagner Scholarship, and the Walter Kaminsky Foundation.
