Soojin Moon

The Korean soprano completed her vocal studies at the National University of Seoul and the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan - both with distinction. She received important impulses in master classes with Montsserrat Caballé, Renato Bruson, Regina Resnik, Sherrill Milnes and Dalton Baldwin.

She made her operatic debut as Marguerite in Charles Gounod's »Faust« in the Italian cities of Treviso, Rovigo and Trento. The broad repertoire of the sought-after singer includes roles such as Jules Massenet's Manon, Micaëla in »Carmen«, Giulietta ((»Les Contes d’Hoffmann«), Isabella (Gioachino Rossini's »L'inganno felice«), Mimì and Musetta (both »La Bohème«), and Violetta to Mozart's Pamina, Konstanze and Contessa Almaviva. Most recently, she found great acclaim with her move into a more dramatic repertoire, succeeding in roles such as Aida, Abigaille (»Nabucco«), Richard Strauss' Ariadne, and Puccini repertoire with Tosca and Turandot.

Soojin Moon has sung on many stages at home and abroad, such as the State Theatres in Wiesbaden, Karlsruhe and Darmstadt, the theatres of the cities of Bonn, Freiburg and Trier and the Komische Oper Berlin, through to international houses such as the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, the renowned Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Korean National Opera in Seoul and many other venues in Ecuador, Poland, Belgium, France and the Netherlands.
