Claudia Renner

Claudia Renner, born and raised in Weimar, studied acting at the Hamburg Musikhochschule. There she spent her first years at the Thalia Theatre in Ulrich Khuon's ensemble, playing e. g. in Andreas Kriegenburg's »Lovers on Ice Witch Hunt« (Abigail), »Innocence« (The Blind) or »Bernada Alba's House« (Adela), in Stephan Kimmmig's »Penthesilea« (Prothoe), in Jorinde Dröse's »A Midsummer Night's Dream« (Helena), in Christiane Pohle's »Fruits of Nothing«, in Tom Kühnel's »Jasagen und Neinsagen«. She then joined Hasko Weber at the Staatstheater in Stuttgart, where she worked with Thomas Dannemann (Rosalind in »As you Like it«), Volker Lösch (»Nachtasyl«), Stephan Rottkamp (»Übergewicht«), Annette Pullen (»Fremdes Haus«) and others.

Claudia Renner is now a freelance performer on various stages, guesting at the Salzburg Festival as well as at the Burgtheater Vienna (Martin Kusej, Henning Bock), the Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus (Markus Bothe), the Theater Bremen (Tom Ryser), the Deutsches Theater Berlin (Jorinde Dröse), the Berliner Ensemble, the Theater Basel, the Hans-Otto-Theater in Potsdam, etc. She can be seen on stage as a singer in a wide variety of genres.

At the Theater und Orchester Heidelberg she played and sang Sally Bowles in »Cabaret« under Andrea Schwalbach, Kate in »Kiss me Kate« under Holger Schultze, Lilian Holiday in Kurt Weill's »Happy End« (director: Philip Tiedemann), and was in »Midsummer« (director: Natascha Kalmbach) in the Dicker Turm, in Bernhard Mikeska's »In deinem Pelz« in the former prison as well as Spelunkenjenny in »The Threepenny Opera«.
