Dirk Becker

Dirk Becker began his career as a freelance stage designer after studying at the Salzburg Mozarteum. This was followed by work for numerous theatres, including the Frankfurt Opera, the Musiktheater im Revier, the Staatstheater Kassel and Karlsruhe, the Deutsche, Komische and Staats-Oper Berlin, the Salzburger Festspiele, the Aix en Provence Festival, the Vienna State Opera and the Semper Oper Dresden. He has worked with directors such as Ingo Kerkhof, Michael Schulz, Peter Hailer, Monique Wagemakers, Kay Link, Christian Spuck and Christof Loy. Since September '22, he has been a permanent set designer and set manager at the Leipzig Opera. With further training as a transformation manager for sustainable culture, he is also supporting Leipzig's city policy for more sustainability in the cultural sector.
 

He has already created the stage sets for the rediscovery of Hans Gál's opera Oper »Die Heilige Ente« and for Peter Tchaikovsky's »Eugen Onegin« at the Theater und Orchester Heidelberg.
