Andrea Braun

Andrea Braun grew up in Hinwil in the Zurich Oberland. She began her trumpet studies at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste, which she successfully completed in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music. This was followed by a Master's degree at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus. From 2018 to 2022, she studied at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main for a Master's degree in Instrumental Pedagogy, which she completed with honours. She received further important impulses through lessons with Stefan Ruf, various masterclasses and lessons on the baroque trumpet with Hans Martin Rux-Brachtendorf. Andrea Braun was a member of the Swiss National Youth Wind Orchestra, the National Youth Brass Band and the Aargau Youth Symphony Orchestra for many years. In 2017, she played in the European Union Youth Wind Orchestra and the Moritzburg Festival Orchestra. In 2018, she played as principal trumpet in the International Young Orchestra Academy of the Bayreuther Osterfestival and the Nordic Orchestra Academy in Helsingborg. In summer 2019, she received a scholarship to attend the Aspen Music Festival and School for two months. She has played as a substitute at the Philharmonisches Orchester of Stadttheater Gießen, the Darmstadt and Wiesbaden Staatstheater and the Oper Frankfurt, among others. Since the 2023/24 season, she has had a temporary contract as 2nd trumpeter at the Theater und Orchester Heidelberg. Andrea Braun also works as an instrumental teacher.
