Patrick Burkhardt

Patrick Burkhardt was born in Göppingen. From 1999 to 2001, he was a junior student at the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart in the class of Prof Rudolf Gleißner. He won several state and national prizes at the »Jugend musiziert« competition and was awarded 1st prize at the »2. Jugendmusikpreis Stuttgart« in 2000. He attended masterclasses and workshops with Michael Flaksman, Wolfgang Boettcher, Eberhard Finke, Philippe Muller as part of the Kronberg Cellofestivals, the Petersen Quartet and the Vogler Quartet. In 2006, he graduated with honours from the Stuttgarter Musikhochschule (Prof. Rudolf Gleißner). He then began a »Solistenklasse« programme. From 2007 to 2009, he spent a year each with the Gewandhausorchester zu Leipzig and the Radio-Sinfonieorchester Stuttgart of the SWR. In 2010, he won 2nd prize with the Amir Quartet at the Carl-Wendling-Wettbewerb for Chamber Music. Patrick Burkhardt has been a member of the Württembergisches Kammerorchesters Heilbronn since January 2010.
