Planet B
by Yael Ronen and Itai Reicher
Marguerre-Saal
[recommended for ages 15 and up]
40 million years after humanity has died out, humanoid creatures look back on the 21st century with archaeological curiosity: They reconstruct the show down of the homo sapiens. Members of different genera faced each other in a gigantic reality show of survival in the fight against the mass extinction of species. Humanity was represented by Boris Baumann, an insurance agent from Bremen. Boris had a difficult stand against panda, chicken, ant, bat, fox and crocodile ...
Israeli director and author Yael Ronen regularly creates highly entertaining contemporary dramas based on precise analysis. Directed by Cilli Drexel, this new version with live band is a touching, absurd and shaking thought experiment on the progression of climate change, performed on Heidelberg's stage.
