Dona Nobis Pacem

»Dona Nobis Pacem« (Give Us Peace) – a message from the canon that was never more urgent than today. While its origin is unclear, it is known from church hymns and as part of the »Agnus Dei« of the Roman-Catholic Church. After »Vespera di Natale San Marco 1633« and a few others, Christian Kabitz has created a new ecclesiastical pasticcio. This time under the title »Dona Nobis Pacem« with works by Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, Pēteris Vasks, Cyrillus Kreek, Lili Boulanger, Johann Sebastian Bach, Ester Mägi, Arvo Pärt, Ola Gjeilo, Hanna Havriylets and Leonard Bernstein. It is a plea for peace from the Baroque to Modernity.
