The German word »Seelenfrieden« refers to a condition of being content with yourself, of having reached inner peace and serenity, and of a balance between internal and external values. Excerpts of the collection »Musicalischer Seelen-Frieden«, composed by Johann Philipp Krieger (*1649 in Nuremberg), take centre stage at this concert. An important role model for the composers of Bach’s and Telemann's generation, Krieger knew how to combine French and Italian style elements in his music. Together with other instrumental pieces of Krieger and of composers from his circle, this reverent programme will take place at the Rokokotheater with experienced music director Wolfgang Katschner.
