As Lady Macbeth, the Danish soprano Signe Heiberg has thrilled audiences in Heidelberg. She now places her Scandinavian homeland at the centre of this recital. Together with pianist Hanna Klose, she will present composers from the Romantic and late Romantic periods, including the artists Edvard Grieg (Norway) and Jean Sibelius (Finland), who are also very popular here, as well as lesser-known composers such as Wilhelm Stenhammar (Sweden) and Peter Heise (Denmark).

Hardly any other genre stands for individual artistic expression more than the Kunstlied. On four dates – this is the last one – the members of the opera ensemble invite you to the Alter Saal and present many different facets of the art of song – from classical to modern – and show the diversity of this popular genre. Each evening promises a unique musical experience in which our singers and the musical sophistication of the art song take centre stage.
