Young virtuosos

Rokokotheater Schwetzingen
Franz Hartmann (Oboe), Elias Neuwirth (Fagott), Pauline Nigg (Horn)
Musical Direction

On the stage where once gifted soloists of the Mannheim Hofkapelle played, the young emerging talents of the Jürgen Ponto Foundation can be experienced: Franz Hartmann, Elias Neuwirth and Pauline Nigg. They dare to perform demanding works by their ancestors - Ludwig August Lebrun (1752-90), Antonio Rosetti (1750-92) and Peter von Winter (1754-1825), all three members of the Mannheim Hofkapelle at a young age. The virtuoso oboist Ludwig August Lebrun composed mainly works for »his« instrument. Anton Rosetti, on the other hand, admired Joseph Haydn's »experimental« way of composing, which is also reflected in his work. Peter von Winter made a name for himself in the Bavarian capital of Munich as the composer of numerous ballets and operas, including nothing less than an attempt at a sequel to The Magic Flute.
