Simple
by Ayelen Parolin
Alter Saal
[recommended for ages 12 and up]
»Simple« (and) beautiful. This is a dance piece without music, featuring just three dancers. The movement vocabulary is minimal, with the colorfully costumed performers creating sound through their bodies. Argentinian choreographer Ayelen Parolin, who lives and works in Brussels, embraces the absurd, taking a naive approach to the choreographic act. She questions simplicity through movement, unexpectedly opening up humorous worlds. For the dancers, the quest for fantasy, joy, and freedom in their work goes hand in hand with the pursuit of authenticity and individual uniqueness.

*The dancers and staff of DTH are eager to engage in conversations about dance, which is why we are offering a special dialogue opportunity: the Tanzbiennale Transfer. Between performances in the Alter Saal and the Hebel-Halle, we will walk together along Heidelberg’s main street to Bismarckplatz. This unique transfer can lead to discussions about dance and movement in general or the specific guest performances. Look for us under our bright pink Tanzbiennale umbrella!
