TanzSzene Baden-Württemberg was founded in 2009 as an interest group for dance professionals in the south-west of Germany. TanzSzene BW was established as an association in 2012 and is currently led by Laura Sommerfeld, Pascal Sangl, Iván Pérez and Pablo Sansalvador. TanzSzene BW is funded by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts, with Andrea Gern heading the office since 2016. The organisation unites the independent scene and the permanent ensembles with the aim of strengthening dance in Baden-Württemberg.

The TanzSzene Baden-Württemberg Round Table takes place several times a year at different locations throughout the state. The format invites all professional dance makers in Baden-Württemberg to meet, exchange ideas, and learn about the activities of TanzSzene BW. Membership in TanzSzene BW is not required for participation, and the round table is aimed equally at freelance dance artists and members of the ensembles in the region.

The Round Table in Heidelberg for the Tanzbiennale 2025 focusses on the perspectives and practices of collaboration between the independent scene and municipal theatres, using the example of the TANZallianz of Theater und Orchester Heidelberg and Unterwegs- Theater Heidelberg.

Registration will be possible starting January 2025 via tanzszene-bw.de.
